Away for a While

We have been going and doing, enjoying the time we have together as a FAMILY these last days. With Dad-O in education, July is a great month for all of us. I have taken a break from the blog world, but will return very soon to continue documenting our wonderful life. In the meantime, a look at two tots we could not be MORE PROUD to call our very own.

Through Another's Eyes

This morning was spent on a hike with Dad-o at Wildcat.
This day was spent with Aunt Morgyn and Mr. Michael.
An intro to Chic fil-a and Fox Farm Whole Foods, and an
afternoon of chatting about life and such and getting to know her again...
Last night we popped over to see them at Nonni and Poppy's house.
These pics are my sweet little cherubs through her lens.
Thanks Morgyn! It was lovely to meet you Michael. And the pics are great!
I am glad I got a window into your world today.

Our Independence Day

Personally, I think the 4th of July is ALL about spending time with family. I want B and E to feel the same way. Because, really, at the end of the day, what else do you have? It is a holiday that I hope will start traditions, although none have emerged just yet, FAMILY is where these traditions will begin and sadly, end, if not held true. With that said, we packed so much into our weekend, I have had a hard time narrowing it down. If I were scrap booking, I would surly be creating 4 or 5 pages from all the festivities. These are just a few highlights....
A parade that would make Norman Rockwell envious.
The sweet, quiet, yet completely trusting anticipation.

The pure joy of firecrackers from a distance

Sharing the floor and breakfast.....making memories with DJ
more highlights below.....
like I said, this would be a 4 or 5 page spread....

More 4th Highlights

A Precious hold on Papa's Collar
A sweet baby boy with his Poppy
My big-hearted son professing to his even bigger hearted Aunt, "I'm so glad you came to see me!"

Shucking grilled sweet corn and witnessing B eating it LIKE. A. CHAMP.

The Re-Set Button

A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY INDEED

Dad-o's Birthday started with a 5am wake up call of mason's pounding the steel concrete mixer RIGHT next door, a toilet overflowing in the adult bathroom, a 70 dollar bill from the plumber who was here for 15 minutes, a very large (no lie) spider in my laundry basket that was not at all afraid to show his little face as I transfered the laundry from basket to basin, and me wondering if we could please push the re-set button.........

Someone listened.......

AND this is the way it ended
Dinner of Flank Steak, mashers, and bell peppers (even one from our garden)
Two Tiny Tots singing the sweetest version of Happy Birthday EVER!
Eating our English Trifle's together.... after making them together (Dad-o's request)

INDEED

Hank

Once Upon a Time
This guy was my WHOLE world.........MY, how things change.....

We had a visitor this weekend. Hank came for a sleepover. The kids really enjoyed having him here. They both had to take him into their rooms and show him around, introducing him to favorite toys and such. Both B and E know Hank as Nonni and Poppy's dog. Little do they know that Mommy and Dad-O are the ones who brought him home and were his Mommy and Daddy for the first 2 years of his life. More than parents we were to Hank, he was a wonderful gift to us during a time in our lives that we needed to shift our focus.

Hank, you will always be that sweet little muffin who snuggled up to my tummy when our precious peanut left my womb to be our family's guardian angel. Thanks for coming over this weekend and reminding me of my many blessings........

My tummy always has a spot for your sweet paws....
