Wacky Wednesday

Last week at Ben's school they celebrated Dr. Seuss' Birthday by making this sweet costume, among other things. I picked him up from school looking like this (too cute, right?) Apparently the celebration included reading many classic Dr. Seuss books as well. I know this because on the drive home Ben would just burst out laughing at himself having quoted one of the books. It was so cute to listen to him whispering behind my seat in his booster. "One, Fish, Two Fish BLUE FISH!" "A Bug holding up a 'fridgerater', WACKY TOO!" "That Sam I am, I do not like green eggs and ham!"

Sung in his sweet voice, the quotes started ending with the same two words, "THAT'S WACKY!" This was one book I was not familiar with. I was pretty certain is was a Seuss book, but unsure of the title. For the next few days we kept hearing the quotes......

Until one morning I received a picture of a book from Dad-O and showed it to Ben. He immediately wanted me to "get the book out of my phone so I could read it to him" I knew it was the one, "Wacky Wednesday" written under Seuss' pen name, Theo. LeSieg. It is such a funny book, and it is his new favorite. I love that he has a sense of humor like his father. We mentioned this new discovery to Mimi last night and she knew exactly what book we spoke of.

Of course, a favorite of the Dad-O's when he was a little. Great Minds DO think alike!
